Qualche giorno dopo Natale un amico di Gp chiama e gli chiede se avessimo il passaporto; alla sua risposta affermativa lui gli risponde: Allora preparatevi che a Febbraio andiamo in Cambogia! Niente di più bello... ricevere un regalo da una persona, dalla vita, da un Natale appena trascorso, da un momento un po' difficile che però riesce sempre e comunque a comunicarci Gioia, Stupore e Fiducia per la vita. Sì, Ok, Grazie, Evvivaaaa... Questa è la nostra risposta. Il viaggio, come avete intuito c'è stato regalato. L'amico di Gp aveva ricevuto dei viaggi premio e ha pensato di coinvolgere anche noi.
Il viaggio è stato molto bello. Abbiamo visitato Phnom Penh, che è la capitale della Cambogia per qualche giorno, e poi ci siamo spostati a Sihanouk Ville, cioè al mare, per chiudere in bellezza. Era la prima volta per me in Asia... Lì era estate, e il mio corpo si è immediatamente adattato al cambiamento di orario, di stagione, di clima... Ciò che immediatamente mi ha colpito dei Cambogiani è la loro apertura, i loro sorrisi.. per la strada ci sorridevamo a vicenda continuamente. Il traffico nella capitale è divertentissimo, pieno di tuk tuk, di motorini, di biciclette, pochissime macchine... a steady stream of vehicles moving without rushing from one place to another, whole families on motorbikes, women with hats and masks to not take the sun, because there are standards of beauty are different ...

Ci giustifichiamo un po' pensando che così creiamo tanti posti di lavoro, ma accettiamo che chi lavorerà in quei posti servirà cocktails che costano quanto un decimo del loro stipendio mensile... Non so... Tutto questo mi fa sempre più riflettere... e credo che questo sia ciò che più della Cambogia mi sia portata a casa...
